And it's not even like they're a discount shop... If anything they are overpriced. I asked about a BTA and was told it was $69.99, or 89.99 if I wanted the rock it was attached to as well (???). The BTA was bleached as well... Needless to say, I left empty handed and went to a different local, cleaner store where I purchased a fully colored, healthy BTA for $39.99, which is a fair price you'd find online.
They have a a great variety of coral but they're not the only game in town any more and simply can't compete with how dirty their tanks are. The fish are always lethargic and sick and I saw no less than 6 dead fish in varying degrees of decomposition in their tanks on my most recent (and last) visit.
I think I'm done with shopping for saltwater fish and coral here unfortunately. I've been a customer for at least 4 years and within the last year the quality has really plummeted. The staff seems to be the same so I don't know what's different. Perhaps they're too busy and too understaffed to keep up with the amount of husbandry required for this many tanks.
I've always had a great experience in finding what I need at this store.
I am in there frequently and no matter how many questions I have, (and it's alot) the staff in the fish room take the time to answer each question. They have helped me beyond my expectations. The knowledge of the fish staff is first class. The coral selection is the best in the area. We will continue to go there as my fiance and I love the place. Also I've found if they don't have a coral or equipment you are looking for, they will get it.
Knowledgeable staff and plenty of stock. Some of their products are 2x or 3x the price on Amazon or even at Petco
Don't feel like this place is your only option for fish or that you're stuck with them. There are a lot of other options, large and small, that you should consider switching to until they get their act together. You'd get healthier fish from Petco even...
My family and I were there yesterday and I was anything but happy with the service. We were there for a while and no staff member asked if they could help us. My son waited for a long time to find someone to help. When I ask a staff member a question he could only reply that he had no idea and that we should wait for someone else. I left the store but my son and his dad stayed and ended up buying a fish. They were not told the name of the fish, the guy just pointed at the name on the masking tape( like my 10 year old would know what how to pronounce it!) And he didn't ask if they needed anything else or had questions. When we got home, I searched online and found that the fish was overpriced by four times !!!!! Never going back there. Extremely disappointed.
